SPIRIT-LED ELECTIONS CONCLUDE ACROSS NORTHERN TANZANIA UNION CONFERENCE
The Northern Tanzania Union Conference (NTUC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has successfully completed its leadership election process for the 2025–2030 term, covering all administrative units from the Union Headquarters to the local Conferences and Fields. The elections, which took place under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, have brought together a team of dedicated leaders called to serve God and His Church in Northern Tanzania. Truly, as the Psalmist declared, “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say.”
The atmosphere throughout the election process was filled with prayer, unity, and a deep sense of divine purpose. Delegates sought God’s will in selecting men and women who will faithfully lead the Church in fulfilling its mission—proclaiming the everlasting gospel and preparing people for the soon return of Christ.
Mission Growth and Structure of the Northern Tanzania Union Conference
The Northern Tanzania Union Conference (NTUC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church continues to experience steady growth and renewed commitment to its mission of proclaiming the everlasting gospel in harmony with the world Church initiative, “I Will Go.” The Union currently comprises nine administrative units: four Conferences (Mara, North-East Tanzania, South Nyanza, and Western Tanzania) and five Fields (Tanzania Rift Valley, Nyanza Gold Belt, North Mara, North-West Tanzania, and Simiyu River). Together, these entities form a vibrant network of believers united in advancing the mission of the Church in Northern Tanzania.
As of August 2025, the NTUC oversees 3,215 organized churches with a total baptized membership of approximately 850,230 members. This remarkable growth is evidence of God’s leading and the faithful participation of church members in Total Member Involvement—reaching hearts, transforming lives, and preparing people for the soon return of Jesus Christ. Each congregation within the Union serves as a light in its community, engaging in evangelism, education, health, and media ministries that reflect Christ’s method of ministry: mingling with people, showing sympathy, meeting their needs, and inviting them to follow Him.
As the newly elected leadership for the 2025–2030 quinquennium takes up its responsibilities, the NTUC remains fully dedicated to nurturing spiritual revival, expanding mission frontiers, and strengthening institutions that support holistic ministry. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the Union seeks to equip every member to live and share the Advent hope with passion and purpose so that, together, we may faithfully fulfill the Gospel Commission and truly say, “I Will Go.”
